30 Short Day Detox

Well, it’s that time again…time for Emily to kick off another “30 Short Day Detox.”

I completed my last detox back in February.  I did the program through “Karyn’s Raw Center” and while it was one of the hardest months of my life, the experience was incredible.  At the end of the program, I had lost weight and felt revived.  I came out of the detox with a renewed appreciation for food asa fuel and I felt equipped to make the right food choices for my body.

This detox program is 30 days of a strict raw/vegan diet.  We incoporate enzymes, kamut, green juices, oils, fenugreek and a host of other natural products to aid in the detozification of our body.  During the first two weeks, you can feel your body expelling all the built-up toxins, and to speak from experience…it isn’t that pretty.  Last time, I was sicker than I had ever been in my life, but my coach kept telling me that it was part of the process (getting the bad stuff out if the backbone of any detox.  great).

Instead of participating in a group detox class, a few of my friends who I met last session and I are forming our own support group.  We will meet every sunday night to “cook” a raw meal, compare our progress and discuss our challenges. 

I was a little hesitant to post too many details during my last detox (mostly because I was worried y’all would think I was crazy), but now you know I am a little nuts and I think support/accountability from my blogging community will actually be a huge help.
