Thursday: The adult version

When I leave work I am meeting Mike at the new house and we are going to run in, take off our shoes and run upstairs to frolic on our new carpet. Cartwheels will probably be done. Then we are going to the grocery store where I will pick up stuff for dinner and dog treats. We will go home, eat, then go on a walk with the pup as we hold hands and talk about our future. I cannot wait.

Any given Spring Thursday 5 years ago, I was slipping into a denim mini skirt and tank top dancing to the female pop star of the moment, drinking a beer and getting ready to go get shitfaced because OMG IT’S THIRSTY THURSDAY and I couldn’t imagine staying home.

Adulthood? Not always completely terrifying and awful
